How do I see a list of a faculty member’s accounts and balances?

Both the faculty member and the administrative assistant should be able to view a report of all of the faculty member's accounts with balances here.

The report should display all the accounts to which you have reporting permission, so if anything is missing please let us know at phys-finance@mit.edu.   

Why am I seeing a negative balance/zero balance on a startup account?

If you see a negative or zero balance on an account that should have a positive balance during July or August, this is likely due to the fiscal year rollover.

During July, the MIT budget system prepares faculty-controlled cost centers (such as startup accounts or accounts beginning with 1) for the new fiscal year. The budget office temporarily sets aside all carryforward income and then restores it to the account in late July or early August.

As a result, these accounts will display inaccurate balances from early July through early August each year.
